Thoughts, Credits and Acknowledgments:
Until you operate a personal weather station, it's hard to realize the sophistication of the technology used and the effort required to provide weather information on an on-going basis. Consumers of weather information don't even come close to seeing the "tip of the iceberg" of data gathered, accumulated, analyzed, stored, and shared to provide our nation with best in the world weather forecasting. Second, the technology used is often state-of-the-art mixed with hundred year-old technology. As is said, "technology is great--when it works!" We appreciate those that come to our help or provide information to make our hobby more fun and keep it going.
We would like to thank:
- Ed Edelman of Ambient Weather, Phoenix, AZ for his assistance in troubleshooting issues with weather station hardware and software. Thank you Ed!
- The thousands of other amateur weather enthusiasts that operate personal weather stations and share their knowledge and data with us all.
- Those that operate weather forums for discussion and sharing of weather-related information. By providing those environments, everyone accomplishes more in less time.
- Our website visitors for their helpful suggestions and encouragement.
- WeatherUnderground.com for making available weather data, radar imagery, and posting of personal weather station data and webcam photos.
- The U. S. Department of Commerce's National Weather Service (NWS) for their web-based weather data feeds, radar imagery, and never-ending and hard work to provide accurate and timely weather forecasting to us all.
